How XBORUL buyers choose Qingbaijiang rail vs Shanghai seaport on FOB terms — transit, packing, and what belongs on the RFQ besides the wheel drawing.
A forged SKU that is ready in Chengdu is not yet in the dealer’s warehouse. Importers should pick a path on purpose: Qingbaijiang (China-Europe Railway Express) or Shanghai seaport. XBORUL quotes FOB unless we agree otherwise. Legal entity on papers: Sichuan Chengshihuanyu Trading Co., Ltd.
Direct answer
Use rail when EU timing and a packed pallet plan matter more than the lowest ocean rate. Use Shanghai sea for most other FCL / volume moves. Write the destination and preferred path on the RFQ. Details: Loading & Shipping.
What FOB means here
We deliver packed wheels to the agreed rail or port handling point. Insurance, on-carriage and destination duties are the buyer’s conversation with their forwarder unless the PO says something else. If you need CIF / DDP language, say so early — it is not the default.
Rail (Qingbaijiang)
- Useful for Europe-bound brand programs that already run on a calendar
- Packing must be container / wagon honest: carton marks, pallet, moisture. QC & packing
- Not every SKU mix and not every week — send the sailing / train window with the PO
Sea (Shanghai)
- Default for North America, Middle East, and mixed global FCL
- Super singles and deep-lip 2-piece eat cube; share the mix so we can plan. Truck assortment
- Chrome and brush need extra inner protection vs a painted monoblock. Finishes
What belongs on the RFQ besides the wheel
- Destination country and whether you already have a forwarder
- FOB vs other Incoterms
- Sample vs first bulk vs repeat (drawing number)
- Any carton language or private-label marks — branding
Commercial scale: MOQ 4 to container. Plant packing video stills: Factory.
Papers travel with the SKU
Packing list, invoice and any compliance file you requested sit on that PO. Do not reuse a DOT/JWL conversation from another face. Papers per SKU, Certifications.
Quote: Contact. Typical reply within 3 hours during business hours.
Worked example
A German brand wants 80 pieces of a 20″ 5×112 brushed SKU in six weeks for a dealer meeting. Rail from Qingbaijiang can fit if the drawing is already approved and packing is frozen. If the finish is still “maybe chrome,” do not book the train. Chrome and an unfrozen carton mark will miss the window. Finish first: sample checklist. Then we talk wagon vs vessel.
A US truck importer with mixed super singles should assume sea and send cube-sensitive mix early. Truck split.
What we pack vs what your forwarder owns
We own carton quality, marks, and delivery to the agreed FOB point. Your forwarder owns routing after that unless the PO says otherwise. If a carton arrives crushed, send photos of the outer and inner before you dump the pallet — that is how we tell transit from packing.
FAQ
Can we split one PO rail + sea?
Possible if both paths are on the PO and SKUs are labeled. Do not invent it at the warehouse door.
Who issues the bill of lading / rail waybill?
The forwarder / carrier. We supply commercial docs for the SKU list you ordered.
Samples by express?
Yes, often, for MOQ 4. Bulk is rail or sea.
Incoterms other than FOB?
Ask. Default remains FOB.
